Our noisy lives...

Well it's been a tiring month or so here. Cameron is waking in the night again - sometimes twice, always hungry. We've started him on solids...a combination of rice cereal in his formula at night and puree fruit and veg at dinner. So far he hasn't eaten much, most of it ends up on his bib! However, he's starting to open his mouth for the spoon and even eat some of the food.

Cameron had his 4 month vaccinations recently and was weighed and measured. He weighs just about 16 pounds and is 26 inches long, which puts him in the 90th percentile, as Calvin was! He did alright with his shots was just a bit grizzly on the day and very tired, but then had a fever about 4 days later (related, unrelated, we don't know!) and was very unsettled for a couple of days. Other than that he has been his normal smiling, giggly self. Cameron especially finds Calvin funny - no matter what he is doing it makes Cameron laugh!

Revisiting old favorites

Calvin's having a great time with all the baby toys that are coming out of storage! He's pretty good about handing them over to Cameron when asked, for the most part. In the last couple of months his talking has come along in leaps and bounds. He now speaks in complete sentences most of the time..."leave my ice cream alone!" (when I was trying to fix his popsicle), "hot trash truck, no touching mommy!" (whilst driving past a garbage truck), "going to the park with Eloise" (every time we get in the car!). He's also very bossy now that he can communicate..."Daddy, sit here", "Need watch tv, need watch Thomas", "baby, sit down!" (hee hee). It's very cute to hear him talking away while he's playing and he's starting to do a lot more imaginative playing. Right now his toys often need "change nappy, wipe bum"...hilarious! His favorite movies at the moment are WALL E and Cars, but most of the time WALL E. He asks for robot almost every day - luckily it's a fun movie to watch! (not that I let him watch it every day!)
It's very cute now to have Calvin say "I need a cuddle", and just recently "need a kiss" (heard through the monitor at night). On the flip side it's eye opening to hear myself mirrored back in phrases like "I'm very angry" and "That's naughty Mommy/Daddy"! It does make me stop and think about how often I say certain things to him.
Some of Calvin's favorite things to say right now are "too noisy" "too loud" "too spicy" (for just about any food), "no, I just wet" (when asked if he's dirty, he also answers this at other random times when he doesn't know the answer to something!), "I too tired" (in response to any request he doesn't want to cooperate with, including being asked to get in bed for a nap!). Some of the funny things I've heard him say..."oh dirty, hello dirty" (after picking up something off the carpet), "hello messy" (to his toy area), "I get dressed Daddy's clothes", "Oh, look at the babies, they watching tv" (while watching WALL E), "silly baby" (or daddy, or mommy - apparently we are all silly!).
If he's not talking he's singing or making sound effects for what he's doing. Our house is rarely silent and I'm sure it won't be for many many years! (which is mostly a good thing)
