February was superfun!

CJ decided he wanted a superhero birthday party this year and he was all about Batman until a couple weeks before the party when we picked out a costume...suddenly he wanted a Spiderman costume and a spidey cake, etc...  Luckily I had just planned the party as Superheroes so it was easy to shift the focus.  I had planned on making a rainbow Bat signal cake as his favorite color is "all of them" - my little guy just loves rainbows!!  Instead I found a Spiderman cake at the local grocer which saved the stress of making a cake and I made rainbow cupcakes instead - yikes, they were a lot of work!  I don't think I'd do that again!  However they looked great and everybody enjoyed them on the day.

The kids all had fun coloring superhero pages, flying little superhero gliders and 'capturing the villians' using silly string (the villains were green balloons with faces drawn by my lovely mother).  We had originally hoped to have a swim party, but the weather did not cooperate and we were all inside while the rain poured down most of the day. CJ proclaimed it the "best party ever", which warmed my heart and made me smile :)  (BTW - I'd never have pulled it all off without my fabulous assistant...thanks Mom!)

As usual Mr. C's birthday got a bit lost in the shuffle, especially since we had to delay the party a week due to Mr. C traveling to New Zealand, but we did buy him a yummy Costco carrot cake and tried to make the day special. :)
