CJ took his first unaided steps this week - wow, our little guy is really growing up! It's hard to believe he'll be a year old next month - it's such a cliche, but it really has flown by. Some of his new found interests are pushing trucks along while he crawls,and pushing anything he can walk behind...including walking toys, activity tables, boxes of nappies, stools - anything that slides! The video below is from earlier in the month when he first really got into his walker. He's now much more confident and zooms around the room - as long as someone's there to turn him around when he gets stuck. I spend a fair bit of time hunched over following behind him back and forth across the living room and through the kitchen, then back again :) He hasn't repeated the independent walking...he took two steps to get to the edge of the playpen, but we were holding his hands originally while he was standing (and then let go so he would sit down - imagine our surprise!). He's still not standing up from sitting, but will pull up on anything one handed as he almost always has some in his hands these days (just because he can, I think)!

He's very chatty these days as well and his 'talk' is starting to sound more like real words and sentences. For a few days everyone and everything was 'daht' - especially the stray kitty that comes around. Now it's 'nan' and 'ma' and the ever popular 'dada' - which he often uses for Craig and sometimes for me (although I do get mama occasionally as well).
