one last time as plus one...
38 weeks
With my due date fast approaching I find myself trying to treasure every moment spent with my little man, while coping with being over 39 weeks pregnant in the summer. My mother arrived last week which has been a wonderful help and given me the much needed chance to sit and put my feet up. :)
Craig, Calvin and I had a lovely quiet Christmas....Calvin received some wonderful gifts (thank you, thank you) that he is having a fabulous time playing with. Craig has had the week off and we have taken the opportunity to have some fun outings. All four of us went to the Taronga Zoo last week which Calvin really enjoyed. He loved seeing the elephants and giraffes and especially loved the kids zoo area that had a water play area!
Our New Year's Eve was a quiet one, but we had a lovely meal and watched the 9pm (family) fireworks in Sydney harbour, then watched the midnight ones the next night!
I'm feeling very ready to have this baby and have had occasional contractions - even some that came every 15 minutes or so one night, but nothing as painful as regular labor.
gingerbread cupcakes for Christmas :)
a vacuum - how fun!
Christmas cuddles
Christmas crackers are a tradition now!
a kitchen - the most popular gift this year (thank you Luptons!)
Calvin is talking a lot these days - a lot of it is still gibberish (he sounds possessed sometimes!), but he is picking up words really quickly and will repeat most things after us. He still uses an 'l' at the beginning of 's' words (loom=zoom), and calls shoes 'loe' (some version of shoe and toe I think), but has started using a lispy 's' at the end of some words (oopsh). He also started saying please in the last couple weeks (pea) - so very cute! He is speaking in short phrases still (dada all gone, here you go) - no sentences yet, but it's obvious he comprehends a vast amount.
Calvin's favorite movie is Cars and he asks to watch it almost every day. He also likes watching Bob the Builder and Thomas the Tank Engine (he went through a short phase of watching them daily, but is back to mostly wanting Poko these days). He had a Thomas advent calendar for Christmas and would rush into the kitchen in the morning saying "toot, toot" and hold his hand out for a chocolate!
Hopefully the next post will have pictures and information about #2, but at the rate I'm going it may not be! :)
