CJ started preschool in February of this year. He was really looking forward to it as he had been asking to go to school for almost a year. I think he was mostly looking forward to school buses, but luckily wasn't too disappointed to be driven by mom! We looked at several schools and he liked them all, but I decided on one that is walking distance and had a really nice outdoor play area.
CJ was really excited on his first day and didn't seem nervous at all. He went straight out to the play area and started having fun. (The sand area is still what he heads to most every morning.) He did not need me to stay there for very long and never had any separation anxiety (unlike me)! The hardest part was getting Cam to leave - he loves it there too!
After Term 1 finished we had a portfolio sent home from CJ's school and it showed that he is thriving there. We already knew that as has made several close friends, has all kinds of new songs to share with us, and brings home lots of art projects. His teachers say he gives everything a try and spends time with lots of different kids. I have had a couple of moms tell me that he is the only one they know from the school as he comes up to them. He absolutely adores babies, so any mom who is pregnant or has a new bub gets his attention right away! It's wonderful to see him so happy and outgoing - I'm sure he'll do well in 'big kid' school next year.

Cam is thriving as well - he seems to enjoy having mom all to himself two days a week, although he did miss his brother quite a bit for the first couple weeks. I take him to '
Gymbaroo' on Tuesdays and he has a blast! He loves the songs and dances and all the climbing activities. The other day he said "My love gymbaroo!" when we were getting in the car - so cute! I'll have to get some pictures soon.
He is talking up a storm now. He is speaking in complete sentences and speaking thoughtfully - we can definitely 'see the wheels turning'! Cam's very good at asking for what he wants and observing the world around him. He loves animals (especially giraffes), cars and balls. His favourite game is playing 'monsters' - which involves us chasing him or vice versa while making monster noises! Cam has just started telling us he loves us in the last month or so and it is so sweet to hear "Love you Mama" and get a kiss. Makes the heart melt!
