I have been putting off this post for a bit because I am finding it quite heart wrenching to write, but here goes....
I hate goodbyes (who doesn't?) and this one is particularly bittersweet. For years I have longed to move back to the States to be closer to family. We are finally making that dream come true, but it definitely comes at a price. I have met some amazing friends here and I will miss them dearly. I know I will make new friends eventually, but nothing can replace the bond formed through IVF (and then pregnancy), or through raising our children from tiny babies to almost starting 'big school' and welcoming second ones into our families all around the same time...ladies you will be missed! (excuse me while I dry my eyes...sniff, sniff)
I will miss living in Australia - there is a beauty and grandeur to this place that is unique. It always gave me a thrill to get that first glimpse of the Sydney Harbour as we drove in, especially on a gorgeous sunny day (of which there are many)! The animals here are amazing too...to be able to drive for a couple hours and be somewhere that you can see wallabies and kangaroos right outside was a real treat. Then there are the birds - when we first visited Australia one thing that really stuck with me was the birds...beautiful, unusual, and noisy! Great flocks of Lorikeets and Cockatoos can be seen in almost any neighbourhood and then there are Galahs, Crimson and Eastern Rosellas, and my favorite the Kookaburra (what an amazing sound they make). The Cockatoos are by far the noisiest and CJ has declared that it will be "nice and peaceful" in America because there aren't any (at least not in flocks!).
I have more to say, but have run short on time. So let's make this a short and sweet goodbye...I'll miss you heaps. Hopefully our paths will cross again someday soon!
Cyn xoxo
