good news/bad news

Well, the good news is that now that I'm on insulin I won't be allowed to go over my due date. The bad news is that this means if nothing happens naturally by week 39 I'll be induced. This is not something I wanted to happen, but I don't have a choice in the matter at this point it's all about keeping the baby as healthy as possible - of course!

The other good news is that the baby is only measuring one week ahead now instead of two, which means s/he's not getting too big - phew! Also, I am continuing to maintain my weight, but the baby is growing which means it's coming off my body somewhere (fingers crossed)! Of course, I'm not trying to do this, but with the GD diet I'm on I've actually lost a bit in the last few weeks.

So, the amazing part is that now there are only 4 weeks to go - at the most! In a way it's nice to have a definite end in sight and to know that I won't have to go overdue :)

Well, it's a bummer that you have to be on insulin. But as for the induction, I know people have all different experiences, but you may remember that my induction with Tyler was wonderful. Much easier than my natural birth with Jake. I can't wait to hear more soon!

Ooh, I forgot about that - thanks Linn for easing my mind :)

good luck to you! Just go for the epi with an induction. I was so set on going natural and i tortured myself through my induction. I couldnt dilate past a 3 because of the stress my body was under. I got the epidural and went from a 3 to being done and baby out in under 4 hours.

Good advice Kris! I had another friend who said the same thing - she wished she had gone for the epi right away!! I'll have to remember that.
